Hi,
My clownfish seems to be acting weird. She's not really moved that much. And will lay on her side occasionally. A clownfish sadly passed a couple days ago and now this clownfish is acting like this. But there's a banded shrimp, and emrald crab and a clownfish( not the one acting weird). Do you know why the black and white ones doing this? She only stays at the bottom now.

My black and white sleeps on its side but usually that is when the anemone is closed up at night. Since I have an anemone the clownfish never really leaves it side. Is the clownfish eating okay? How bit is the other clownfish, I find if you have clownfish of similar size someone is going to get beat up or worse. I generally make sure that my smaller clownfish is significantly smaller in order to not get killed by the larger female.

I don't have any anemones or anything. The clownfish that died was a pair. The new one has left it alone there's no bite marks on the black and white one. The water is fine I got it tested everything good.

I can't tell if she's eating or not. Before the other one died she was eating. But she only lays on the sand.

You said “a clownfish sadly passed a couple of days ago”
There may have been an infection at play.

One dies, one’s struggling, keep careful watch.

The behavior sounds lathargic which is a symptom of parasite infection.

Is there a way to treat it?
Hard to treat not knowing what’s the issue.
If it was parasite, then copper in QT might be best.
But I hate to treat what I can’t diagnos reasonably.

I’d post this in the disease section.

The disease gurus are great at providing solid advice in this difficult area.

They likely would need to see at least 30 seconds in video white light posted via YouTube and copied into the post.

Is the water oxygenated? Do you have a skimmer, or a powerhead pointed at the water surface? Tank pics will help generate more idea's, fish shouldn't be dying.

The nitrates were a little high but the guy at my lfs said it was not high enough to kill a fish and really hurt it. We did a water change today so I may have went down.
