Help Diagnosing QT Failures from Setup Issues

Who is your primary supplier of Fish? Some of your losses are probably from poor specimens; however your losses are still very high. I still think your QT Setup was causing some of your issues. The low water volume and confined space adds undue stress. One size does not fit all as far as QT Setup goes. Aquarists really need to consider the Size, Species, and the Number of Fish as part of the formula to successful QT.

I did not use the tote this time. I wanted to eliminate the tote as the issue so I’m using a brand new 20L glass aquarium, brand new heater, brand new air stone, and seeded sponge from my DT sump.

I’ve lost 11 of 13 QT’d fish since May. The that survived are from Australia and the Maldives. The Blonde Naso I lost from a heater issue was from the Maldives. I’m pretty sure the other fish were from the Philippines and the surrounding area.

I would like to discuss the water level and volume with you further.

Would you be willing to share more of your thoughts on water volume? When I think of the purpose of water volume, it is to allow for stability in parameters and enough dissolved oxygen for respiration. I test daily and haven't had issues with stability. Is there another item associated with water volume I should consider?

I agree we want to make sure there is enough room for the fish to swim effortlessly and have separation from each other.

I would love to hear more of your thoughts. I'm all about learning from feedback.
