Guys,

I totally spaced and dipped a bunch of new sps frags in RODI water. They are looking awful in the tank now... Should I redip in saltwater or just let them sit in my tank.

Don't know how I could do something so stupid. Was prepping water for a change and just scooped it out....[emoji31]

Some were in it for about ten minutes. I didn't even realize until I put them in my tank and thought man, they look like crap. Polyps 100%s receded. Some visible tissue scarring...

Well some people do say doing a fresh water wash works well for killing parasites...

I've accidentally rinsed sps frags with Rodi water before after a dip. The corals did recover but didn't look too good after I first put them in my display.
Best thing to do is to just leave them alone and let them acclimate and heal up to the environment you will be keeping them in. Constant changes will probably result in a loss quicker.

We'll see....I don't have high hopes. The only good thing is some are completely covered in slime coat, I'm hoping that will help them hold on.

I've actually heard of importers dipping acros in RODI before a normal dip, apparently any AEFW or red bugs just fall off in RODI.

Man, I am thinking you're right butts. I spent my whole coral budget on these including a bunch I had been saving up for xmas, and my gift money from my wife.

I lost:
Hawkins
Oregon Tort
Wolverine
RR Vinh
Paletta Pink
Tubbs
Ora pearlberry
Pro corals rainbow
Pro corals superman
Pink lemonade
And 5 other no names :(

This is really really maddening/saddening.

Ouch, that is a nice collection you lost. I feel you pain just thinking about the hit you took.
One thing I've learned over the years is to check and double check to be positive about what I'm doing. If I'm unsure I have no problem scrapping everything starting over.
Hopefully the OP's corals will recover.

I've got a six week old baby, and am up for a feeding in the middle of the night. I just checked and it looks as though there will be no survivors.... Huge blow knowing I won't be able to replace any of it soon and saved up for so long.....

Still can't believe it happened. Was just on autopilot since I have done this normal act so many times(the right way).

I guess you live and learn the hard way haha.

If my worst problem of this year ends up being some burnt up coral I will be just fine!

Tough morning... It's a coral graveyard. I'm a man, but stuff like this makes me want to cry haha.

Thanks all for the input as it was happening.

Tough loss on those list. Some of the most wanted sps. I have rinsed once in ro/di in just seconds and lost a couple for doing so.
Congrats on the new baby tho

So sorry for your lose. I sometime rinse rock with tap water to kill corals. On the other hand congrats on the new baby!
