I recently purchased an innovative marine lagoon 25 gallon tank. I’m going to turn it into an anemone tank. I can’t seem to find a stand to fit this tank. It has to be 20” deep. I really don’t want to build my own. I can do the 2x4 build easily but I don’t think I can finish it out to look good enough to go in my living room. Any ideas?

IM does (or did) make a stand for this tank, there's a listing at BRS, though it says it's out of stock. You could try contacting BRS or IM and seeing if/when this stand will be back in stock.

I'm not sure of another stand you could just purchase for this tank.

I would suggest scouring your local thrift store or your grandma's attic and look for a solid piece of furniture to support this tank. If you can find a well constructed side table, nightstand or dresser that can accomodate the footprint, it will likely hold the weight. A single kitchen base cabinet may also work. Check out that Facebook Marketplace too.

I'd also add that if you can build a 2x4 stand, you could "skin" it in prefinished wall panel boards that come in a wide variety of finishes from solid colors to patterns. Add some molding to the corners and the top, and you can have a pretty decent looking stand, depending, of course, on your taste.

Good luck!

I just looked a little closer, and I'm not sure if the stand I linked will fit your 25 lagoon 🙃

This might be a DIY or hopefully you can find something that will work for you 🙂

Innovative marine quit selling just stands. Idk why
I was afraid of that. I think they want to sell the whole package, but that's kind of nuts when they sell the tanks separately 🤪

If you look around I'm sure you can find something, and if not I'd rather have a 2x4 stand than a tank on the floor 🙂

A couple of options outside the IKEA route.

Look for a local steel / aluminum fabrication shop. I bet they can throw something together for you. One of their apprentices usually need work. Something to consider.

80/20 - check out alufab on the web and get a quote for them. Something this small may not be that expensive. Shipping may cost a bit but it is something you could throw together in a couple of hours probably.

alufab stand without doors in your tank size will cost around $520 plus shipping. It's a great product. This is my current alufab stand
