Help - Gravity fed Frag Tank Plumbing

Hi all,

I'm trying to plumb a 8"x4" botanicare reservoir into my wife's peninsula display through the wall in our garage.

The display has an internal coast-to-coast overflow which prohibits us from easily gravity feeding plumbing to the frag tank without creating a U in the plumbing that brings it back above where the bulkhead is on the bottom of the display tank.

Will the siphon hold on the gravity feed from the display into the frag or is my plumbing bad and do I need to T off the return to feed both tanks?

The U in the gravity feed should not be an issue. I have a few gravity feeds with U's in them and they will not inhibit the flow significantly and should not break a siphon. I would recommend that at the bottom of the U that you install a T with a ball valve and a drain plug so you can empty the line out for servicing or if needed. Its best to do some testing and make sure that power off and power on for the return pump does not cause any issues with the gravity feed.
