A little bit about my tank, I have a 30 gallon cube I inherited from a friend. They had it established for two years, I moved all of the fish, live rock and water and set it up at my place. Their levels of everything were CRAZY but I managed to get them all in a good place. Now, my Nitrites are going nuts. Here’s everything that may have affected it that I can think of;
-Added copepods to the tank.
-Feed my fish pellets nightly, and brine shrimp every other day for the bottom feeders. I also feed my corals reef roids and phytoplankton twice a week.
-I have 4 Mexican turbo snails, a few astraea snails, a purple dottyback, a pair of clowns, a Diamond goby and a small foxface rabbitfish. ( I inherited him with the tank, he will be going to a new home soon).
-I added chaeto algae as a refugium, my fish destroyed it and small pieces of it remain in the substrate.
-I do 5gallon water changes weekly.
-I added new dry rock, but kept all of my established live rock.
-Also important I have very little to no algae growth.

Do I need more bacteria? Did I break my cycle? The majority of my corals and fish are healthy and growing. In fact my hammer corals are branching new heads. However my dragon soul favia is sliming and some small pieces of flesh seem to come off sometimes… My LFS said it’s because of the nitrites. Any ideas on what to do?

Probably just an error. There are very specific scenarios that could cause this but your fish would be dead in the likeliest of those unlikely scenarios.
