Hey everyone,

Got my first dino attack. I have a 10 gallon nano reef. Just started noticing three days ago what seems to be dinos. Phosphates 0 / Nitrates 5 / Ca 440 / DKh 9. Attached are some photos of what I could take with my phone over a small cheap light microscope. I’ll try to get better ones. It started a few days ago and I’ve been just scrubbing the rocks and filtering the saltwater into a bucket with a filter sock and then adding the saltwater back into the tank (I’m gonna stop water changes for a few weeks and do this) while I figure out what Dino I’m dealing with.

I do weekly 10% water changes and I have a HOB chaeto refugium and a few weeks ago I dosed two bottles of purple and pink helix coralline algae which have started forming on the glass and rocks (I’m wondering if I made the perfect storm that depleted the nutrients?)

it does seems to be better in the mornings but there’s still stringy fine strands on the sand and rocks that def don’t go away when the light goes out. I was trying to use a PDF on here to figure out which Dino I’m dealing with but I’m gonna defer to the experts on here. Thank you all!

PS. I’ll try to get better photos. The shakes seems to be all over the place. I’m noticing pointed end shapes but not all of them look the same, maybe multiple types?
