Yes it did.

I saw something on it, so I tried to pull it off.

I'm not sure if I cut a part of it off, or if this is the whole thing. I observed it for a while. It was wriggling a little bit.

I have the same thing although it is still on the coral as a sort of parasite but it does no harm. It lets out a mucus string in the water to catch particles and then reels them in to eat what ever it catches. Pretty cool but if you have it off already I would just discard it.
