Hi, I have a Blasto Frag in QT and there are all these white stick things surrounding it. Seems like they are growing. Any ideas what they are and how to deal with them?

Could be a type of algae or tube dwelling critter. Manual removal is the best bet. I’d use a good toothbrush in between the polyps in a separate container of tank water.

Ok will try that. Maybe Hydrogen Perioxide dip for algea? They are notoving or wiggling so I dont think its a worm. Mayne algea as is it spreading but ive never seen a white algea before.

Instead of dipping the coral in peroxide, I suggest using a cotton swap dipped in it. But you may still have to brush or pull it off after. If they have tentacles, could also be hydroids.
