I got this freebie coral from someone. I forgot to ask what type of coral this is and where best to place in my tank. Hoping someone can provide an ID and recommend placement / lighting condition. Thanks.

Weird because I bought this from Pet and Aquatic Warehouse but they never gave me the name for it. I broke it trying to remove an aiptasia so now I have two frags. Hey @bsr2430 wana do a trade for a hammer frag? :D

Thank you for the ID and reco. I'll place it higher in the tank then. I originally had it on the bottom of the tank. Your coral is the size of a VW beetle.

Placement can differ in everyone's tank!
3/4 of my Chalices are on the bottom, others are mid and top level. All seem great.
Simply make sure it's happy, happy coral, leave it be!

Weird you didn't come to me first! I have one. Probably would've been much cheaper too!
I've got a hammer that's giving me mix signals. Fell onto a chalice and still hasn't fully healed up! If it doesn't get better, you might be getting a hammer for free!

I think I paid a while $15 for a piece the size of a quarter. I need to make another trip here soon.

If it makes you feel better I killed two fairly quickly back to back. Havn't figured out the trick to hammers yet but I love their look.
