Ok. I had Dino’s purchased a microscope ID”d them. They went away.

Threw microscope away and laughed about defeating them

Then this pops up. (See pic)

My phos were HIGH around when they started a month ish ago

Is this Dino or golden algae. Or both and all. Lol

I would really appreciate some help!!

If I have to buy a new microscope I will

Forgot to mention I have been reading your posts all day.

I am not sure how clear but dang. Tons of bubbles in the long strands of whatever this is.

I feel it's likely that there's significant dinos in the stringy bubbly stuff.

Have you tried the coffee filter test? If you have high phosphates, it could be chrysophytes (golden algae).

Also, if you remove the gunk from the water, does it retain its gelatinous consistency? A transparent, light brown gelatin?

I'm interested in what it means if the gunk is light brown and gelatinous. I have that currently in my tank and have been manually removing it but would like to know what I'm dealing with.
