New to the hobby and picked up this coral over the weekend. Local store said it was a type of Xenia but I can’t identify it. Any ideas? Thank you!

It does look like a xenia but it’s adjusted to the tank yet because it’s not “open” in good, healthy fashion. Give a few days and let’s see another picture. In that time you’ll also see if it pulses or not 😉

Welcome to the site! Most users are going to drop by just to say welcome on the this sub forum fyi! It’s a shame.

Also , you don’t have to do anything I say, of course, but you might regret having your rock in the background so close to the glass. I taught myself the hard way that it’s nearly impossible to clean glass if I don’t leave enough room for my hand or handled-scraper to fit comfortably. 😁 Do with that what you will! It can always be fixed later
