Help is my return pump failing?

Should i be worried about my return pump? Its an reef octo hy 7000. cleaning is starting happen more often ahead of my sch cleanings. Cleaned today, in December, in september, and april, I woke this morning to a sump full of water. The pump shuts down, I cleaned the pump. The impeller feels lumpy by the way, pluged it in and all is good. Was Not alot of crud on it. Its a Good pump.but can not keep up with my two 1.25 drains set if set to wide open. Recomendations on a upgrade wanted. Or opinions on a new impeller as a fix. I got 5-6 feet of lift/head height needed in my next one if i go that route. The pump is about 4 years old. I bought it used and i have had for 2 years

I had a similar issue with another brand pump and it turned out to be calcium deposits on the stator that I couldn’t easily see.. I had to use a small metal blade to scrape it away as my normal vinegar soakings hadn’t removed it in previous cleanings.

First thing I look into when a pump starts giving me trouble is the impeller.
4 years isn't a bad run for one.

4 years out of a DC pump is excellent - especially a RO. Well done.

You can try running it in a solution of diluted Muriatic Acid to clean it out, but it is probably done. Muriatic is like a driving a nail with a hammer compared to driving a nail with a Q-Tip by using vinegar.

Here are your replacement choices...
1). Expensive and reliable DC pump like a Abyzz or Red Dragon
2). Cheap and short lived DC pump like you just had - choices are abundant
3). Cheap and long lived AC pump like Laguna, Tunze or Fluval

None of them use much power for this application. The AC ones have no controllers neither to fail you nor to have a feed mode, but the last decades and do not need cleaned - no apex.

I changed over to the Ecotech marine S2 i have a head height about 5 feet and I run it basically on the lowest setting only because my plumbing is only 3/4 inch and my flow isn’t as much as I wanted. Great quiet pump easy to adjust and you can buy battery backup for it.
