Help Me Pick a Car!

328s are pretty cheap now days i sold mine for 6k with 92k miles
335s are headaches.

i had the 328 for 2 years sold it a year ago and got into a 2000 civic def learned a lot on the civic ended up boosting it. But it was not safe at all lol handling was awfull only knew this cause the 328 handled way better. got out of the civic this year and got into a lease 340xi

When I was young and all my friends were short on cash we walked or peddled.

avoid honda. as great of a car as it is, it is a car thief/chop shop magnet.
subaru I don't like simply because I frequently see them driven by maniacs. I've known a few who died of head on collision driving subaru. life is short as it is, no need to make it even shorter.
uber suggestion seems reasonable. that's the hip thing youngsters do nowadays. in addition to ordering $17 hotdog via food delivery service.

I have a pretty good background in automotive stuff. One of my first jobs was working at a German specialty repair shop. Also did auto paint for a collision center before moving away from auto field altogether.

I would recommend a Honda/Acura/Toyota/Lexus. A back up camera would be a firm requirement. At 8K it imperative the car was cared for and not neglected. You want a car that looks clean inside and out. A clean car is a sign the owners took care of it. Sometimes you can spot an used car that the dealer detailed to make it look clean, but prior to was nasty.

Not saying this exactly, but this is the type of car I would look towards or recommend to someone. Personally I would want a sporty four door sedan with a V6.

Want something extremely safe 85 to 93 Toyota Camry. Or a Volvo. We had the police come to our work and gave a speech, he stated that he has never un- buckled a dead guy in a late 80's car with one to two air bags. Guess what, that is not true today.

Waiting till it slaps you in the face is a good idea. Can’t wait till I sell off all my old tanks in the garage so I can pick up on of my two dream cars. Also Craigslist is your best friend. Look up a bunch of car brands and names and sometimes similar things will pop up.

As a past owner of a 66 mustang and current owner of a 72 vette, living in the northeast, as a new driver, you need a front wheel drive. I learned to drive in northern Maine with rear wheel drive. It can be done but its not easy or fun.
You will love the mustang in August and hate it in January.
Hard to go wrong with Toyota, Subaru, or Honda.

I learned to drive with RWD actually, and of course I’m no expert yet. Also didn’t have much ice to fight this winter so that will be another thing to deal with eventually. Next thing to tackle is a manual trans :)
