I’ve been converting my tank to a anemone and soft coral tank and finding unusually coloured soft corals to stock it with.
I saw a incredible yellow leather toady today and thought it looked a little sad but might perk up in a better environment. However, Ive noticed its in much worse shape and has areas of rotting, necrotic tissue. Driving home it released enough toxins in the bag to make the water look like chicken soup. I run GAC reactor through the bag water and started the acclimating process. When I added it to the tank it was still leaching so I added several litres of GAC to a reactor and put a bag of GAC down stream of the new leather. But it’s in a sorry state, the shops brilliant and recommended taking it out and bringing it back. Which is a option, or should I attempt to save it as I’ve never come across a leather like this before.
If I attempt to save it, what’s best approach? Cut out damaged tissue? Treat with some sort of coral dip?
I’ve added photos which unfortunately don’t show just how yellow it is because of the blues, but what do you think? A goner or plenty of chance of surviving?
