Is it fatal?! Is it a fluke? Does it go away by itself? Put him in the main tank. He's swimming like crazy!

Neither of those issues would be fatal and they are not contagious to other fish. I cannot tell you if the tang might have some other, hidden disease, but the two eye issues I mentioned are not a problem.

The eye flukes might, but cataracts are permanent.
