Help!!! My Gorgonia is melting away!!!!

Red Gorgonia - started what looked like peeling last week after the So. Cal. power outage. Parameters are all perfect and everybody else looks fab in the tank. But the gorg keeps melting away. Any help will be appreciated.

Do you have any pics? May just be dying. They are difficult to keep in the home aquaria. :(

Unfortunately no. My husband jumped the gun and cut all the dead off, plus cut it into 4, increasing our odds that we might be able to save some of it. He's put the pieces in different areas of the tank - light, shaded, more flow, a little less flow - since we've read so many conflicting posts about how to keep them.
I'm SO bummed! It's the most expensive piece I've purchased - I'm a chicken and usually buy the $5-$15 frags (or win them) to watch them grow. We've only been doing this for 2 years, with this 55g up for almost a year.

Well I am sorry to hear that. Sad to say but we have all gone through it and lost our share of coral and fish. What color is it?

BTW I think your husband did good.
