I was hoping for someone with this overflow to help clear up an issue I'm having.

I'm trying to plan what piping I need, it says that it takes 1 inch pipe but measuring the interior diameter of the bulkhead it comes to about 3.4cm (1.34 inches). Would a 1 inch pipe work in this big of a hole? This is my first time hard plumbing anything so I'm trying to make sure I get it right first try.

Can someone please assure me if I'm being an idiot or not thank you.

I’m having a hard time fitting a tube into the bulkhead that sticks out of the box. The internal diameter of the bulkhead is bigger than the pipe and there’s no way to seal it.
I have tried silicone, glue, tape, teflon, but nothing to to, it will leak.
The problem here is that the threads on the bulkhead do not fit with the standard pvc bulkheads I can buy here in Italy.
Am I missing anything…?
