Briarium’s produce a slime coat similar to leather corals. Sometimes when added to a new system they have a few days they shed this mucous and will retract for a little bit.
I wouldnt say retracted polyps is an issue of its self
Sometimes a water change or a small change in flow pattern will help shed the mucous faster if this is the case.

Alk is a little high. Not catastrophically so, but a bit. If the coral came from a system where the ALK was lower (probably) then it may take a bit of time to settle in.
