Briarium’s produce a slime coat similar to leather corals. Sometimes when added to a new system they have a few days they shed this mucous and will retract for a little bit.
I wouldnt say retracted polyps is an issue of its self
Sometimes a water change or a small change in flow pattern will help shed the mucous faster if this is the case.

More info will help. Age of the tank, key parameters, etc..

It's a 10 gal nano. Ocean revive t247 lights. Did a 2 gal water change yesterday

Tank is 2 months old. Salinity 1.025

8.2 PH
Calcium 400
1600 magnesium
Alkalinity 11.2

Alk is a little high. Not catastrophically so, but a bit. If the coral came from a system where the ALK was lower (probably) then it may take a bit of time to settle in.

But I've had him in there for weeks.
