As part of putting in the new system, the wife would like the tank pushed back further against the wall than I can with the 120 I just bought (drilled in the back).

I'm looking at new tanks (4 foot 120 gallon). any thoughts on the Aqueon dual megaflow versus the Perfecto corner overflow?

Aqueon:
* anyone know the dimensions of the rear overflows - in the drawing they look giant, in the pictures they don't
* dual rear mega flow overflows.
* I _think_ there is a single 1" drain and 3/4 return in each one
* stand pipe is not included in base price

Perfecto:
I "heard" the corner overflow is 8.5"
* single overflow
* corner overflow (left side - which is the less desirable location for us)

I like the dual better, though I'm concerned about the size of the overflows taking up too much space. I realize cleaning the Aqueons would be harder.

any thoughts?

Pictures I found that supposedly are a 120 Aqueon:

My All-Glass Aquarium 120 has a similar dual overflow system. I placed a pair of powerheads at the sides of each overflow with another in the center near the top. So they all point towards the front of the glass, the 24" depth and the overflows where they are help accomodate more random flow patterns and makes a cleaner look 'cause the PWs can be blended in with the rocks keeping the sides open.....(of course some Vor-Techs would probably be better)

None of the pictures you show are a 4 foot Perfecto 120. The first pic is the 5 foot 120 (60x18x26) and the second pic is a 55.

The Cornerflo units are actually 8". They can be ordered with dual overflows, but this would be a special order. (should cost you about the same as the 2 plumbing kits from AGA:bigsmile:)

I find the cornerflos to be less obtrusive when viewing from the front, but the AGA's are better when viewing from the sides, however, I am quite biased:snicker:

my dad runs a AGA 120 with the "rear" overflows and with the back painted black and the proper rock stacking they blend right in.

However i tend to agree that cornerflows can be less intrusive from front end viewing.

allglass and island are now aqueon. perfecto is by marineland. have had both with no problems. i guess it would come down to price and availability
