Hey guys,
I have a 3 year old sps dominant reef that I have been able to avoid phosphate removing media so far, recently my sps have darkened and growth slowed with a slight recession at a base of a few--I have 'tolerated' a Po4 of .14-.2 for a few months, (honestly the colors at the lower end with Nitrates 10-25 are outstanding) .
Using a phosban 150 reactor I put 4 large spoonfuls in, my levels, have dropped to .7-.11 over the last 2 weeks. But seem to creep back up if I don't add more.
I wish to continue to slowly decrease the levels--do I add more on top of what is already there or replace it all together? In addition, is there a point in time after initiation of phosban that less is required (both amount and intervals of changing) when the new 'steady state' is achieved?
appreciate any advice from experienced phosban users!
