Anyone know the best material to fix leak? I have a UV sterilizer that has sprung a leak for the second time. It is a pentair 40 watt, about 48 inches long. First leak was in the black body tube, which I cut out and replaced with 3" PVC pipe. Now, about a year later, it has started to leak in the seam between the pipe and the black ends that I glued on.

I am thinking of putting a couple of layers of epoxy around the seam.... So my question is, would epoxy be the best for seam leak or is there something that will hold up to the UV light better?

I don't want to cut it apart again, can this seal the seam from the outside? I was thinking layer, sand, layer, sand, and maybe one more just for the heck of it. Will this work that way?

OK....I have both.., epoxy, and PVC cement....so I will try the cement and see if it lasts. I take it that you are speaking from experience with this stuff.
