HELP WHAT SHOULD I PAY? Tyree Green Toadstool

my LFS here in Michigan charges $40 for a frag of Tyree Green Toadstool that's small and freshly cut without a "stem" recently I have found 1 for sale online that's already got a stem and it seems to be 3-4 inches tall. with an asking price of $45 and $40 is that a good deal, it also has ZOAS attached to its base.

Once they 'brand' a coral that adds to cost... feel its an okay deal BUT if you are chomping to get one then go for it.

If you can wait, Black Friday sales are when deals can be had, but no way to know if someone will have that Tyree Green Toadstool at that future time ... I had an 'unbranded' green toadstool we loved but grew so large and killed anemones plus impacted other corals in tank despite running charcoal - our LFS gave us an awesome credit and they only pay wholesale so perhaps prices have increased

$40 at a LFS seems a decently good price. I’ll see them for about $30 from a fellow hobbiest and the store needs some markup. They seem to be pretty hearty so I wouldn’t worry too much about not having a stem. On the other hand, it’s nice to wait a week or two after cutting to make sure that the stress doesn’t kill it. If you are patient you may find a hobbiest selling for $20.

That feels expensive to me. That's the kind of coral you could probably swing as a free bonus if you're buying a lot of others at the same time, or swap with a fellow hobbyist. But if you like the specimen (3-4" stalk sounds nice) and the zoas look cool for you, I guess.

That’s actually a good price. I’d grab it. I’ve had mine for 2 years or so, no problems. Every once in a while I’ll check various sights for one/ pricing and availability. 9 times out of 10 they’re out of stock. And $30-$40 for a 1” frag. I’ll be setting up a new frag tank soon. My Tyree is on the list. Should get 40 frags out of it. Again good price.

I think that's a great deal concidering that your lfs sells fresh cuts for same price.

Sometimes WYSIWYG, is not, or not maybe as good as the pic.

See if anyone local has any. I can barely sell them for $10 here in Ny for a frag already attached and growing
