Recently set up my doser.... having a hard time knowing when to dose.
Ive been testing every night at 12AM for about 2 months...

I keep my..
Alk at 9.0(may go up to 9.3 MAX)
Calc at 450(may go to 460 MAX)

So far my Alk drops from 9.3 to 8.6 daily
And my Calc drops from 460ish to 450 every day and a half or so.

Right now I have have my doser set up to dose 5ML of Alk at 4:15AM and 4:30AM(everyday) and my Calc I dose 15ml Every other day at 4:45AM.

Since stability is key in a reef tank when is the ideal time to dose to hold my Alk 9.0 and Calc at 450?

Or am I an idiot and doing all this wrong?!

Ideally dose as many times a day as your doser can handle. ie: if your tank requires 24ml/day, dose 1ml every hour throughout the day. Currently my new tank requires 4ml per day total, dose 2 times per day, 2 ml every 12 hours.

so if my alk is 10ml a day so 1 every other hour?

Give or take. I’d break it up 5 times a day at 2ml per dose. It helps to keep things consistent without a spike once or twice a day. The smaller the spikes the better.
