Hello fellow saltines,

I just got some new corals and when I was dipping a brittle star came off. I'm excited because I normally just get bristleworms. :) Where do I put him in my tank? Do I put him on the sand bed or a rock. I also noticed half a brittle star. Not sure if these legs came off the bigger one or if this is a seperate one. Can someone let me know. Hopefully he/they survive. I was scrubbing the corals when they popped off. I might have hurt him/them. Also, what do I feed them. I don't know anything about them.

Put both pieces where they can escape behind the rocks. They're nocturnal and will go where they want. They are cleanup crew, eat ditritus and leftovers.

Thanks everyone! I'm not sure the little half guy is still alive (he's not moving) but I see movement from the larger one. I wish I had been paying closer attention when I was dipping. I pulled them out as soon as I realized what they were and put them in some tank water but I'm not sure if they were in the dip too long or I injured them from scrubbing.
