Help with algae

Desperate for some advice. I’ve had my tank for about two years. I will admit I have gotten lazy about cleaning it lately. I am now tackling lots of algae on the bottom of my tank. I just did a water change and scraped a ton of the algae out of the bottom. At the point I really feel that tearing down the tank Is my only option.. I wanted to come here ask for help before making the ultimate decision. I’m sure my parameters are all out of whack, all new stock ends up dying within 2 weeks.

*What can I do to get my tank clean, healthy, and looking good again??

55G tank
Protein skimmer
Filter
2 powerheads

Stock
2 clowns
1 snowflake eel
Few crabs and snails
Tube anemone
Few other corals

hahahahaha.... looks like a "little" hair algae now. First I would test my tank and see what my numbers are. Next I would get down and dirty with a tooth brush and siphon tube. I know you just did this but........ Since you want it to be cleaner. If you are rich you might hire the local LFS to come clean it. Since everything is about dead? I see clowns. Do some water changes. Get a few snails to help maintain the alage. I did not see any ref to an alage scrubber or a fuge with macro algae, chaeto. That will help if your nitrates and phosphates are high. They prob will be after removing all the stuff that was consuming them.

From my experience it doesn't take near as long to get a bloom than what it does to fight it. It just takes a little work. You sound convinced your parameters are out of whack, let's start there and get your some help. What are you parameters?
