I have 160 gallon mixed reef system and I have some chalices that have been doing really good for about 4 months. Now all of a sudden, a few of them have shown signs of receeding. Its only a certain few that are receeding like my pink ******* and a couple watermellons. My Tyree Miami Hurricane and my Cornbred Bubblegum Monster are still going strong. I have been trying to stop them from receeding for the last 3 weeks now. I have moved them from the frag rack where originally they were doing good and then started to receed after a few months and now moved them to the substrate at the bottom of the tank. I run 3 250 MH with T5 supliments. The MH are on a timer to be ran for only 5 hours a day. I even tried to put the receeding chalices in a shaded area hoping they would stop receeding. They are eating 2x a week mysis and articpods. My water perimeters are top notch. And are as follows:

Calcium- 450
Alk- 12
Magnesium- 1300
amomonia- 0
nitrites- 0
nitrates- 0
phosphates- 0
salinity- 1.027
temp- 80 degrees
PH- 8.2

Flow is 2 MP40s running @ 60%. MHs are about 14" off the water. I have not noticed any fluxuations in my PH or ALK. I have no problems with cyano or any other kind of algea. I am at my wits end on trying to figure out why my chalices are receeding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
For example. pics are of before and 2nd pic is now....help!

Thanks for your info....did you dose or dip the chalices. And who makes interceptor? What tempature are you running at. I thought mine might be high but my tank has been the same temp before this started to happen. I also dose them with zeouit LPS amino acids and havent seen much improvement.

Its dog heart worm. It treats red bugs. I would read up a little bit on it. It is a very safe and easy treatment. When ever I have issues I dose it and it always seems to help.

You may want to dip them in Revive or Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure (TMPCC) as a healing dip. I always dip them after I frag and it helps them to heal the cut edges. I know you didn't frag them, but if it helps to heal a cut edge, I believe it would help a receeding edge as well. It has helped me with some receeding edges in the past. I have no scientific proof that this works...only my personal experience. Certainly would not hurt the chalice to try it.
