Please tell me this isn’t brown jelly disease. If not, any ideas?

any chance it was stung? brown jelly is usually the byproduct of an infection, if you wave water gently by the spot, does tissue come off?

I recently moved a platygyra about 4-5 inches away. I noticed they may be close so I just separated them to be safe.

I’m not sure. I haven’t tried it.

Tissue recession due to stress. First thing I would do is get it off the sand which can irritate it. Assure moderate light and water flow. Lights look a tad bright
Assure levels listed have not become elevated:
Phosphate
Nitrate
alk
CA
Salinity

This can be a single issue or multiple. Constant up and down in tank parameters will also be an issue especially if tank is newer.
What is age of tank?
Are you using RODI water or Tap water from faucet?
What test kits are you using for Nitrate-Phos-Ph- CA ?
