OK,

My tank has 2, 2" drains.

I want to have these dump into a filter sock.

I am having a hard time coming up with an idea to hold them in place.

here is the pic of the drain area...its a little tight...

as you can see, they are the two larger pipes coming straight down.

anyone have any ideas?

Drains are the 2 pipes in the top right, correct? If you use the draw tie socks as opposed to the ring type, you should be able to rig something up pretty easy... Drywall screws in the wood? Or tie them to the brace where the spa-flex is coming through?

make a sock holder out of acrylic to fit into the space you need.

the easy and functional way would be like this.

run a bar across the sump just sitting on top. hang the sock on that bar and call it a day.
when its time to change the just slide the bar out and replace. easy, fast and functional.

Except for when it overflows because of a dirty sock. I change mine weekly and it still pours out of the top regardless. Just keep that in mind!

if your socks are getting so dirty that they are over flowing your not changing them enough.
and even if it does over flow it wont matter because it will be over flowing into the sump. they will hang down a few inches from the bar which will keep them contained in the sump

I use the J type PVC pipe hangers. The ones that snap onto the pipe. Then I put a coupler at the end of the pipe and snap the pipe hanger over the bag above the coupler so it won't slip down. It holds them great and it is easy to change them out. no knots to untie.
