Help with freshwater tank

Can someone help me figure out what's going on with the fish in this tank? It's my girlfriends 10g fresh water tank and I have no idea about freshwater stuff. Her fish have brown spots all over them and it has really progressed quickly over the past 3-4 days. I did a big water change about two days ago. The one gold fish looks to be in the worst shape. Whatever it is, it's eating away at the fins and body scales. I thought maybe it was fin rot but I'm not sure because it's fresh water and also because of the brown spots. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

It could be some kind of fin rot or a bacterial/fungal infection on the fish. The look of the back fin of the goldfish makes me think fin rot. Have y'all tested the water lately? Brown spots could be a result of ammonia burn, which goldfish tend to give off a lot of.

What would cause to get ammonia burn? There is a beta fish in there too and she seems to be experiencing similar issues. She doesnt test the water quality. She doesn't know a whole lot about all the testing and what not. Its pretty much a simple beginners set up. Maybe 10 bucks worth of live stock.

An uncycled tank with High ammonia will cause ammonia burns....needs major WC asap.

Pretty sure that SW ammonia tests will work the same on FW (ok I'm not 100% but)

It shouldn't have cycled? I just did a 10 g water change two days ago. Th fish were already in the condition they were in when I did the water change. That's what prompted me to do so.

It looks pretty advanced. Treat with an antibiotic, many brands out there will treat tail and fin rot. API makes bettafix, that's one that comes to mind. You can post this in fish disease forum. Water changes should be done as well

Really was just anwsering the W..... think the fugal/bacteria is more likely but...

FW is about the same as SW.....all about establishing bacteria in the substrate and bio media. a WC two days ago isnt going to really help if it's not cycled(not help as in not fix the issue will help the fish though). When did this tank Start? and did it cycle...

The tank has been set up for about 6-8 months I believe. I can't remember too clearly.
