Help with frogspawn

Purchased this guy at a frag swap about 2 weeks ago. First picture is what it looked like up until 2 days ago, now it just doesnt seem to open up right. Have another frogspawn and 2 hammers along with other corals and all seems well with them. Parameters all test ok SG 1.027 alk 7 calcium 430 mag 1600 phos .03 nitrates 0. No changes made since purchase.
Thinking of pulling and doing a dip in seachem reef dip I have on hand tonight.

Maybe he’s just trying to adjust to his new home. What lights are you running? Maybe he needs more acclimation time. Have you actually seen bugs or worms on him?

Its definitely not happy, since the others look happy I would go forward with a dip. Also, make sure it's not getting to much flow.

How much flow is he getting, they need enough flow to keep detritus out or they start producing a lot of mucus and closing up. They can also close up from too much flow without acclimating it slowly to slightly higher flow.

Hard to say it can be pretty moderate at times but its vortechs on reefcrest so it isnt constant. Had a hammer in the same spots before hand that did well. I'm thinking a dip then moving it to a low lighting spot to recover and hope foe the best.

Only thing I see is regular pods on the base of the skeleton. 2 Kessil 360x max at 60% 5 inches from water surface and it's about 20 inches underwater between the two.

Looking much better today. Did the dip at double strength and placed it in lower lighting with gentler flow for the time being. Hard to get a good picture in it's current position but I think I may have helped it

Mine like low flow or no flow. and dirtier water.

In my experience, some times you can have two different frags of the same coral species and they like completely different flow and light. You should be able to slowly acclimate it to the light and flow you have your other frags at. Every few weeks move it a bit closer to where you want it.

I did see some dead tissue on the sides but not much came off in the dip so hopefully it was mostly just ticked off and not diseased

Agreed. I have them at the bottom and top in my tank, they all do well in any lighting. The ones with flow stay smaller but split just as much.
