Its dying, the white parts are dead flesh. They like to have a good amount of flow and light, but especially flow.

What are the water parameters, tank age, type of lighting and flow please? Do you have other corals, how are they doing?

Thank you for your help.

Tank Parameters:
Temp 25.5C (78F)
PH 8.05-8.15
Salinity 1.023
Dkh 8.5
Calcium 420
Magnesium 1310
Nitrates 11-15
PO4 0.04-0.10

Tank age: 2.5 yrs
180 Gal Tank
Peninsula Type

Equipment:
-Skimmer 24/7
-Ozone 24/7 at level 5/10 ORP 290-350
-Chaeto Doing Fine

Lighting: 3 XR15 + 1 XR30 all running AB+ Specturm for 12 hours and 6 hrs of peak intensity.

Flow: 3 MP40 and 1 Jebao MLW30 two on eqch side of the peninsula. Running at about 70-80% power.

Recent issues:
-Vodka overdose created a bacterial slime for about 4-7 days… stopped vodka dosing and slime went away immediatly. This also caused pH to drop to 7.8 on the lowest and 7.95 on the highest for about 1 week.

Dosing:
-Dosing H2O2 for 3 months now for ich managment.
-Dosing Kalwasser to keep pH up and Dkh/Ca.
-Dosing Elimiphos Rapid (Lanthanum chloride) 7.5 ml every day into the filter sock to control PO4
-Stopped vodka Dosing 1 week ago.
-Stopped Trace Element Dosing (Tropic Marin A and K) as I wasnr able to tell if the dose was too much or too little for the tank… dosed this for 6 months.

Problem Corals:
-Green Leather Toadstool: Dead skin portions started 2 days ago.
-Green Slimer Acropora: Turning Pale started 3 weeks ago.
-Pinstripe Pachyseris: Turning Pale started 2 weeks ago
-Marble Branching Hammer: Turning Pale (not so much) started 2 weeks ago.
-Meteor Shower Cyphastrea: Dying… started 2 weeks ago.
-Miami hurricane: Turning Darkier than ussual noticed yesterday.

Corals that are doing Fine:
See pictures below.. all pictured are doing fine!.

Water Changes:
I sued to do 20-30% water changes every 6 weeks.. since i Started seing problems i increased water changes. I changed 35% yesterday and 11% the week before.

SHOULD I FRAG THE LEATHER TOADSTOOL in an atrempt to save it? If so.. wouldnt it die anyway as it would be in the same water?

oh I see.
Honestly it won't hurt to snip a healthy piece off, but sounds like a tank-wide issue, so as you mention I'm not sure how it will do to cut a piece and put elsewhere in the tank. If you have another tank I would put the frag in the other tank. But I would try if it was me.

Hope you can turn it around, please let us know if the white part ever heals, would be very interesting to know. Good luck

Thank you!

Will try! And will keep posted. I just checked on the tank and the white part has NOT advanced which is good… i hope the necrosis has stopped….

Will keep informed. I am afraid to frag because it can stress the coral… what are your thoughts on this?
