Hey guys I have 30 gallon tank and recently purchased a Kessil A160w. Tank consists of:
Pair of clowns
4 x torch corals (2x gold torch)
2 x Small sized Acans
1 x Zoa (approximately 15 heads)
2 x bubble tip Anemones ( fairly small)
1 x Green Acro frag

I need help with the lighting schedule/setting, I also bought the controller to set up with it.

Any help would be appreciated

I also have a 30 gal with a160. just hooked up controller 2 days ago. Iam trying the preset just with the color of my liking. My bta seems to be alot happier being able to absorb the higher intensity at 60 intensity.

You can't really screw the spectrum up with a Kessil, so tune it to what looks visually best to you. Intensity will be different for every tank, but you can start at say 50% and see if that's enough. The light itself doesn't put out too much par, it's a 40 watt fixture at the end of the day.

For those corals you need a lot of light. So start with 60% intensity, next week 80%, following 100%. Color on kessils I find success between 0-35%

Ok cool I’ll try it at 50%, how about for growth? Would that be enough? Also how would I know if my lighting is to strong?

If your corals get really brown or really white and pastel colors. That’s signs of light issues.

That sounds about right. I have 360’s and I keep mine 11 inches above.

Thanks heaps for your help, I’ll try setting them to peak at about 65% intensity and around 15% colour and work my way up from there
