Help with my favia

This piece has two holes when i originally got it..
The seller said this is not an issue and the coral is healthy..
The top right hole have been growing at slow speed for last couple weeks and last night it suddenly took over 2 -3 eyes...
I have seen white fungu looking thing grow in the hole. I blow them away every day.

Anything i should do to prevent the hole from expanding?

move to a lower light placement, keep the openings clear of sand and other irritants.

Spot feeding and a dip in iodine wouldn't hurt either.
