Help with painted background

I painted the back of a tank that I'm setting up with rustoeum oil based paint. However there is an ugly gap at the top of the tank that I can't paint because of the strip that goes around the outside of the tank. My question is can I paint that area inside the tank?

I would not paint the inside of the glass. You could get a sheet of abs plastic and cut and silicone to the internal part of the unpainted area.

No data to provide you shouldn't, it just doesn't sound like a good idea in my mind. I may be wrong though

Spray it with krylon fusion. that has been proven to be reef safe once fully cured.
