I am new to the hobby and am trying to find a good first tank to use. I've been looking for so long and just don't know what to get. Some suggestions of tanks to get would be super helpful. What I am looking for includes:

  • 20-40 gallons (30+ preferred)
  • $500 or less
  • Preferably AIO or a kit
  • Rimless

Any help would be very appreciated as I have been very torn on what to get.

Welcome to R2R!

This $500, is this for just the tank or everything else?

Here's something close as far as a tank goes.

Its just for the tank. I can get lights and everything on my own. Also I have looked at this tank before and I am unsure if I would need to get a filter and protein skimmer with it.

This should be doable with the Facebook market place. Heck in my area you could get it with fish and lights and everything for that. Would avoid any used or hell even new Red Seas tanks

I have seen this Fusion Pro 2 before and it looks good. Would I need to get a protein skimmer or filter for it?

Could I get a link to the ad?
You have to look for one, I just gave you the rundown on the deal I got and showing what is possible with Facebook, craigslist and offer up. The tank in my tank thread is what I did with a 100.00 used tank

I have the 15g version of this and like it. The 25g version comes in under budget and leaves more money for accessories

Comparing the two the IM has some nicer features.

The lagoon footprint is also low and wide which is kinda cool, but a peninsula is nice also. Both are good tanks with built in filtration. IM has the nice little riser platform

does anyone know anything about these Tideline tanks? They seem good and I was also looking at the 31 gallon. Anyone's opinion on it would be helpful.
