I purchased a bounce from a guy who cut a small piece (size of an eraser) from the edge of the mushroom. The frag had no bubbles and was thrown into a box with rubble. It eventually attached and has been doing well ever since.

I have fragged a few dozen bounces, but they start off on a decent size frag disc 2” or so and i run it right down through my saw. Right through the middle of the mouth and sometimes even quartered them. Never lost one yet. After fragging i always but in a small cup to keep the flow down or put in a mushroom box.

If its your first time, it will look like their not gonna make it, they shrink up to a fraction of the size they once were. But after a week they turn around and by a month they are totally healed. In my opinion, mushrooms are some of the hardiest corals out there considering they get cut right in half and still live! Its crazy.

Thats my experience with it.

Have a cheaper one you could try on first? Or buy one? I hate to try anything for the first time on a bounce.

My god this all sounds so frightening to me. I wouldn't dare try any of it. I would be worried about killing them
