Help with Pump Selection

Hi Folks,

Can I please get some help to choose a pump for transferring RO water from the basement into the fish room. I am deciding between these two. My basement is about 2.5m below the floor of the fish room which is about 30m away. I am thinking of connecting 1/4" tubing from the pump in the basement to the ATO in the fish room. I will have a smart plug hooked to the pump so that way I can turn on/off the pump remotely (as in I am not in the basement but in the fish room) as required. I will also have a valve to turn on/off RO water into the ATO. I know there are many other different ways to do the same job and fully automated and directly from the RO unit. But I think my method has a lessor chance of flooding the house.

Both pumps have copper in it. But I think it is safe in this case as I will be only transferring RO water. If none of these are suitable, please recommend another in similar price range. Thank you.

Neither one says its available. I'd suggest looking at a peristaltic pump if you don't need much volume or have time to let it work.

Otherwise a pond pump would be another choice....just needs to match your head height requirements. (Don't use a restrictive plumbing size and the distance won't really matter....only the height.)

Thanks for replying to my post. I think a peristaltic pump may take forever to fill my 25l ATO. I may forgot it being filled and potentially flooding the house.

I don't know enough of your requirements I guess. :)

Maybe run two or three in parallel for more flow since they are inexpensive? You can use a float valve to shut it off when full..and/or float switch...and/or solenoid. I consider some kind of auto-shutoff a requirement for exactly the reason you stated.
