Help with QT tank.

I need to set up a simple 10 gallon QT tank. Can someone help me with what I will need. I don't want to put sand or rock in it. I need to just get the water up to temp and put my inverts in there why I treat my tank for ICH

Ideally you would want to have a sponge filter running in your display tank that you can move over to seed the QT. Otherwise, all you need is a heater, a filter (simple HOB works fine), a cover, a light, and some PVC for fish to sleep and hide in. I would also use a Seachem Ammonia Alert badge throughout the process. Keep up on water changes if there are any signs of ammonia.

Water doesn't carry enough beneficial bacteria, so the tank would either need another source of bacteria (like the sponge filter I mentioned), or the tank will cycle. Why do you want to put inverts into a QT?

Because my 29 gallon biocube has ich because all my fish keep dying and they all have white spots. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do. I have 2 fish that I just got and I don't want them to die. I just found out I have ich in the tank.

How bad do they have it, a couple spots or covered?

The clown that just died didn't have any spots he just had a fuzzy coat. The other clowns that died had all over. They came from 2 different LFS.

Leave the tank without fish for 2 to 3 weeks..

2-3 weeks is not nearly long enough. 10-12 weeks is more like it. It takes that long for ick to die off in a fallow tank.

You may be better off cleaning it out and starting over.

Cleaning it out meaning remove all of the fish and then leave it fallow (without fish) for 10-12 weeks. You don't have to do anything else with the rocks or sand. Just ghost feed the tank a few times a week to maintain the bacteria. This will avoid the tank re-cycling once you re-introduce fish.
