help with vacation location

Does anyone have good recommendations for a getaway resort locations? Looking for a place where I can snorkel / dive, somewhat secluded & quiet but with modern amenities and simply just relax. Been only to Bahamas & Jamaica in the past and looking to expand my horizons. :) Any help would be appreciated!

went to the dreams resort in cancun and it was awsome. they have dolphins there also. also have snorkling/diving. i went diving when i was there for only like i think 60 bucks. we went out for about 1hour. the dive was on a reef and 20 feet down.i think it was the best money ever spent. the table acros were huge. check it out.

Ever had thought of Puerto Vallarta Mexico? Its a fantastic location, great food, nightlife, and just plain relaxing. Do a little research and let me know what you think. I have a few full time ownership condos down there, maybe we could do a little trade ;)

Soufrierre, St. Lucia has great diving, nice snorkeling, and really good food. The view is sweet too.

Tobago is a great place. We stayed at the Tobago Golf & Spa Resort Hilton Hotel in Scarborough. It is on the beach but there are not many people there since it was the only hotel in the area. They were building some nice houses next to it several years ago when we were there. Diving was great and we also went zip lining in the rainforest. There is alot of history there and you can visit the forts. It is not so commercialized like some of the other islands. It is also more poor, but a great and relaxing place. I would definately go back.

Antigua is another great place. We stayed at the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort which has the sunken schooner Andes a short swim from the beach or you can hike to Fort Barrington also near the hotel.

If you dont mind going to Phillippines

Try boracay and Palawan.

Palawan is considered one of the seven wonders of the world and has the best corals i have ever scuba. Boracay is a nice little resort island.

besides the flight. 1000 bucks can keep you busy for atleast a month like a king

If you are taking your lovely lady I sugest little cayman or cayman brack, the diving and snorkling is fantastic, layed back and very romantic also very quiet and private.

went to Palawan (Coron, not Puerto Princessa) and snorkled the Siete Pecados (Seven Islands)... my goodness... it was amazing... flight is 18 hrs though... yikes!!! if you're able to get to Philippines and have extra time, might as well head to Australia too... :) :) :)

Bora Bora, we went in 1987 (showing my age), but it's one of those trips you remember. Overwater bungalow, huge manta rays off the dock (Hotel Bora Bora), coral and fish everywhere.

Have you thought about the Florida Keys? Lots of variety to choose from. The most popular boating/snorkel/dive place is Welcome to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park - Key Largo, Florida Keys. There are also quite a few different ones to choose from too. My favorite is captainslate.com. You could then spend a few days down in Key West at a nice hotel or bed&breakfast. While their, you could try the "Duval Crawl". Visit museums like Mel Fisher's to see the some of the treasure and items from the Atocha. Many others too. Take the walking haunted house tour at night. See and enjoy the interesting stores and bars. Sunset festivals every night. Boat trips / jest skies / etc...

Not to mention other areas to visit within the other Keys.

For such a small place, there is quite a bit to do and see.
