New coral spotted this snail and other thing on it are they harmful?

So it is 100% a nassarius snail or whelk but I honestly am not sure which it is based on the pictures.

If it digs into the sand it is most likely a Nassarius snail which is good, if it does not dig into the sand then it could be a whelk which can eat & kill fish/snails/inverts (bad). Nassarius snails usually have a long foot behind them extending past their tail when moving.

Looks like a whelk to me. The snout is tattooed looking and a nassarius snout is solid black.

So, to be clear here, whelks are not generally liked in a reef aquarium. Maybe toss it in your sump?

Ya I chose not to add it into my main tank for now the shell of it is pretty dirty makes it even harder to tell I appreciate the info
