first i never listen to what petco says, how olds your tank bud?

I bought a fish, and put it in a 8 gallon bio cube. It had funny white spots on it and acted weird. I called pet Co and they tolled me to put it in hot water. So I did it and it died soon after. I have had the cube for 4 weeks.

Go into petco and tell the manager what happend. never dip a fish in hot water. 9/10 those white dots are ick.

I am guessing they were trying to have you do a freshwater dip. Which I still would not have recommended. The water temp should have been the same as tank temp though, not hot. Please come back on here to follow up, and with future questions.

Something sounds fishy here. Personally I'm choosing to believe that no one told you to put a fish in hot water. Not even someone from PetCo. I'm thinking you totally misunderstood the advise. I'm even more surprised that you actually did it!

I might have misinterpreted his bad advice, but I'm 95% sure that's what he said. I did what I thought he told me.
