!!!help!!!

Could somebody point me toward more information on alkalinity shock? I have been around long enough that I should've heard of it by now... but haven't. I know about the KH role in pH moderation and bio-assymillation (sp?)... but KH shock, nope. TIA!

you win some and loose some...i had a piece shut down in my tank a few months ago that had been in there growing for a long time...it just started having necrosis all of a sudden and by the next morning it was gone...made me panic,i was like, what the heck has happened to my tank, whats wrong,is everything else fixing to start, but that colony just didnt want to live i guess..very strange how they shut down like that....
