help !!!

Today a bought a bigger aquarium for my fish and I moved the live rock to the new one(the water is from the store) and also I put the old filter in the new one too .Only one problem when I tried to get a big rock the old aquarium well..it broke .Now I keep the fish in a very small bucket ..the water in the new aquarium is still a little cloudy because of the new sand ..shoud I put them in ? Please help..The fish seem to feel a little bad in the bucket.(and my house is full of water ughhh) I will leave a photo of the new aquarium for you to see how cloudy it is ..please help ..I m quite desperate and my fish are too

Sorry about your troubles.

you can put the fish in. The cloudiness from sand won’t harm the fish. A mechanical filter will help speed up clearing the water.

I had a tank basically explode in my living room last year so I feel your pain.

First thing I did was go to home depot and grab a large rubbermaid tub to put all the fish and live rocks in it. Put a powerhead or two into aimed upward to help with the gas exchange.

Hopefully you saved some of your water for both the tub and the new tank. I had the fish in the tub for 2 days as I had to find a new tank on craigslist, drill and plumb it so they will be fine.

Try and use as much old water as you can and put a heater into the tub to keep it warm.

Once you get your new tank set up, test the ammonia levels to see if it's acceptable. also stick a heater in there to match the temp as the tub. I would recommend getting new sand for the new tank (if you haven't already)

Again, when moving the fish into the new tank try and use as much old water as possible. Or you can go to a lfs and they will most likely give you seeded water from one of their tanks.

Just move the fish in slowly and add prime to temporarily fix any ammonia issues you may have.

Hello,

I would put the fish in but at the same time either have some prime handy, and check the new tank water parameters. The cloudiness will clear in a day or two, some 200 microfiber pads will clean it quickly also.

I checked the water seems ok! Last night when I put the water in I also used some of the old water .I m running now 3 filters 2 that I had in the old one and one new!I had some "bacteria in the bottle" kind of stuff so I put a little of that too just to help good bacteria in the tank ..I m just scared with ammonia hope the level won t rise because now it s good.Just hoping that bacteria will do their job, my biggest concern was the cloudiness seems it s going away :) Thank you so much .Now I only have to clean all this mess..hahah

Put it in - there are lots of DIY water polishers that are simple to make - the stuff in your tank should be adequate to handle any ammonia, etc.

Alright, take a breath. ;Woot I've been there too, when a 150 gallon tank had the entire front pane come off. Not fun. You already have seawater from the store, so that's good... As long as it's up to temperature, the fish can go in straight away. Just make sure that you have a pump and/or wavemakers running already, to keep the tank oxygenated.

I see that you're in Bucharest (beautiful city, by the way), so I'm not sure what products are available there. But start with whatever nitrifying bacteria blends you can get, and add at least double the dosage that the bottle calls for; if you have more than one product available, use at least two, in order to have more diversity of bacteria species. Beyond that, add some water conditioner as well. Put a piece of foam or filter floss either directly behind, or covering the water drain, this will help absorb some of the loose sand and cloudiness in your water. Just keep an eye on it, and I'm sure everything will be fine.
