Hey guys,

I was looking at my porcupine pufferfish just now, and noticed something on the top of his eye, kind of like above his eye. Now, it may just be sand/dirt, so call me paranoid, but I don’t want it to be something wrong... I took a picture and I circled it... does anyone know what this is?? And if it is something off... what do I do??

Again, sorry for the paranoia and the weirdness.... I just want my little guy to be okay [emoji4]

Thank you so much

Take a look:

If that picture isn’t too clear I have another one I took last night:

I’m worried about him because I’m leaving on vacation to go to another country soon and I don’t want him to be sick or have him not be treated while I’m away... any ideas??? I’d want to be able to treat him before I leave... so I can avoid anything happening to him while I’m gone

Looks like a real blemish to me.
What other livestock is in the tank? Could possibly be a sting or other injury.
If an injury, it will often heal up quickly.
However bacterial infections can have many different appearances, so that's a possibility.
If it's getting worse, you'd want to transfer to a hospital tank and treat with antibiotics.
If it's raised, try a freshwater dip before transferring, to see if anything falls off.
In either case, make sure he's getting the right food and plenty of it.
Consider adding Selcon to his food to promote healing and for immunological support.

Blemish or even healing from a nick.
Melafix will assure healing and infection protection but personally I would just observe and even add garlic to its food for immunity protection

So, there are no other fish in the tank so far. He’s the only one. It definitely doesn’t look raised... but I’ll keep an eye on that. I did buy some of this...
