Hello

I bought a foxface approx 2 weeks ago from LFS, 4 days ago i realized a faded white spot on him approx 2mm circumference, and today he has them on both sides of the body and they are getting darker like grayish. He is eating and acting fine. but I dont know what i should do

I have 2 clown fish and a yellow goby, in a 43 gallon Red sea max E-170 tank, with Montipora, toadstool, acans, and zoas.

Any ideas??

Looks like bacterial blemishes. What is your ammonia and nitrate readings and age of tank?
This is water quality related but now to pinpoint area of parameters.

Age of tank is 1.5 years old, but said that just about 6 weeks ago i picked up where i left from meaning revived the tank, after leting it go for about 10 months or higher

So i can easily say it went through a cycle and probably is still going
I check my parameters every 2-3 days and seems very consistent i dont have ammonia test kit.
Nitrate is 5 ppm
Phosphate 0.02
Calcium 400
Kh is 11
Salinity 1.022
PH 8.4

i have 3 other fish from last year still in there and doing great 2 clownish, and 1 yellow goby

Not to mention fox-face is eating and active.

i have all in one skimmer that comes with red sea max e-170

i run a filter floss, chemi pure, sponge, and fluval carbon

I see you mention you got him just 2 weeks ago so I assume you didn’t quarantine! If that’s case keep close eye I. Him they do get blotchy when something is irritating them. Mostly water quality issues but it could also be beginning of a parasite infection (e.g., ich, velvet etc). I had one that stayed blotchy for the whole time I had in copper but everything else about him was fine eating etc. I think if fed well it will either get better fast as tank stabilizes or May get worse if a parasite and will start swing those signs. May want to get a QT ready just in case. Wish you the best
