good times in the feedback forum lately. I love the fact that not just us question them, but now general users are stepping up to the plate, risking that OH SO FREAKING VALUABLE RESOURCE of RC, and questioning the mods.

You'll notice the pile on they have become so famous for....must be in the mod handbook over there :hammer:

Peace!

As someone who took part in the thread I gotta agree with Brian:

I think a complaint about a cartoon character holding a bottle should be met with all the professionalism it deserves!

That guy was either fishing for an argument or really needs to get a life, IMO.

Any direct link to what you are talking about? I am not a member and refuse to become one. Thanks,
dave

Here's the cliff notes:

A guy complains about the username berrguy and his avatar. Beerguy is a mod. The avatar depicts a monkey who looks basically like curious george driving a car holding a bottle out of the window.
The poster goes on a rant about drinking and driving, etc....

I was the first smart a** to point out
1. It's a monkey driving
2. You cannot tell what kind of drink it is and maybe it's a Sprite.

Lots of jokes about monkeys driving followed.....

:)

Haha, the only question that really comes to my mind is:

How many RC mods does it take to respond to a question????

LOL
Laurie

Answer:

As many as it takes until they have a whole communal brain cell fired up to answer it...

ROTFLMAO
Laurie

I went after him hard core about it before...being a police officer and all, and him promoting drinking and driving!!!

It's so funny how they always "gang up" on the people who have complaints or concerns!!! It reminds me of a bunch of third graders who could never fight their own fight!!!

No joke! Double standard for sure.

Number one You can't tell what the bottle is and does it matter if it is a monkey? The point still remains that if you look at it is is a dark bottle as is most beers and one would assume that with his name that the bottle would be a beer. They really like blowing smoke up their own butt's and stroking each others ego. They really are useless and I truly think they do stuff over there for their own enjoyment. I guess they were the kids that got picked on and always had their lunch money taken so this is their way for getting back at those that picked on them.

Actually, it is more of a response to idiot burnout. Most of those guys have been moderating for years with over 100 pm's daily to answer. Most of the questions daily are in regards to this post offended me because...or other complaints. This gets old and the patience for the drama quickly disappears.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not making excuses for their constant banning of commercial hobbyist. That right there is BS! Leave people alone. What I am saying is there is a ton of drama from the members ripping and flaring on guys and even more thread Hijacking! When threads go off topic they are useless to the original poster and that upsets people. When you consider the volume of complaints from members about other members you can see how the job isn't fun.

Are they power tripping? YES!
Are they abusing their moderator privelages and acting like Elitist? YES!

My point is here...They are wrong for how they choose to moderate and the members need to respect each other more and moderate themselves. I go to alot of club events across the U.S. and meet many of the "loudmouth" guys. You know in person in a public setting they don't run their mouth the way they do on the boards. Wonder why?

As far as this post referenced at Rc goes...C'mon! The post was useless for content building purposes and was clearly a Kiss Goodbye! IMO, the nature of the post just adds fuel to the fires. The best thing to do is to massively recruit as many people to CZ as possible thru their board.

I'd like to take this opportunity to stress the importance of the message that an avatar can send to impressionable masses:

Rev....I've been bothered that your avatar seemingly advocates the consumption of squirrels. The depiction of what could be one of America's greatest heroes partaking of the fur encourages every Bubba out there with a shotgun to start shooting up their backyard in pursuit of the tasty little morsel. After all...it’s not like you can go to the store and purchase squirrel and go safely on your way. I mean, I remember reading in my Weight Watchers book that 4oz of squirrel is worth 3 points and thinking, 'Wow...that’s a pretty lean critter...but not as lean as the raccoon..' which was also in the WW book...but I digress. Anyway....could you try to be a little more responsible in the message you send out to our community? After all, everyone knows that being a mod makes you God like and influential.

I'm cringing now waiting for all the other Mods to pile onto this thread in defense of their own. And I sincerely hope I won't log on tomorrow to find first my PMs being read and then....my username revoked. Then of course my husband couldn't post either because he comes from the same IP and god forbid there be more than one hobbyist under the roof. And then....oh wait: I'm getting up worked up about nothing...this isn't RC. Thank goodness.

Reefwifey -

I will say this one time and one time only. My squirrel eating and the general love I have for all rodents is none of anyone elses business. Yes I am a pastor, a man of God, but eating squirrel is my passion! Not only am I a pastor but I am the supehero of all who have ever got into a vicious fight with a squirrel while attempting a megar taste test. THUS MY AVATAR!

Yes I am a MOD
Yes I am a Pastor
Yes I am a Reefer
Yes I love Squirrel

I am SUPER REV!!!

It's a bird, no it's a plane, no it's a flying squirrel with super rev hot on it's tail!

LOL....Rev your always good for a laugh.....

That's it Reefwifey your gonna go on probation, the only thing that you will be able to do now with your privledges here is send me frags. All your other privledges are gonna be revoked untill I decide when I have had enough of your frags to suit my needs.
