Ok so asking if anyone else has had this before. So I got a Xenia frag off ebay, came yesterday, Woke up today doesn't look like it survived the shipping 1/2 of its gone and the rest looks dead. I was bumed out so I went to my LFS to get something. Ended up adding a small emerald crab and then a xenia frag that they had. Not pulsing but I wanted something. I had to do some stuff so my wife calls me and said my crab was dead already and the fish were eatting it.

I came home and it was a blue hermit crab. I had 3. I'm doing tank maint tonight so I turned off everything and then realized that I still have 3. the Xenia frag I bought wasn't on a plug but a small live rock. is it possible it was living inside the rock ?? I dipped it in RX before I put it in my tank for 5-7 minutes.

I guess also, is it possible 2 have 2 crabs in 1 shell ? or I did buy some extras shells last week. Could they maybe had a dead hermit inside and he finally loosened up and floated out ?

So I added in 2 shells today cleaning my tank. Just found another dead blue hermit, Can't confirm that all 3 are still there as I can't find all 3 ATM but I don't see the shells either. maybe another 1 came out of 1 of the shells I added.1

The shed of crabs and shrimp look deceptively like they died.

Some things to look for,
new red appearance that wasnt present before(especially shrimp) dead

Not complete, missing a section looks like tgere is a hole of crevis. Molt
