What is living on my new hermit crab!?!

Hoping this video works.

Here is a screenshot. The little feather-like thing pops in and out of the hole.

You don't have a Google account? You can just sign in with Google. But yes, I can see the picture now. Looks to me like a harmless feather duster. It's a filter feeder, but some remove them because they can reproduce rather rapidly.

Edit:

It could also be a barnacle. I would need to see video of it retracting into it's shell to confirm if it is.
